Mission Statement:
Dance Projects by ME seeks to cultivate space for dance projects inspired by diverse styles and community exchange. We strive to create dance accessibility through choreography, education, and performance.
Who we are.
Our organization developed out of a collaborative partnership between dance artists Meli Lincoln and Erika Martin. After moving to the US from Mexico, Meli met Erika at Zenon Dance School in 2019. They began working creatively together officially forming this organization in 2021.
Most recently, Meli and Erika collaborated through the Generating Room Residency at the Cowles Center for Dance and Performing Arts where they developed “Movement as Language” a community workshop series for Latinx, LGBTQ+, and disabled communities. MNIDF is a natural evolution of their collaboration.
Their international backgrounds, extensive production experience, and immersion in the local dance community give them the platform to bring together local and international artists they have connected with in their careers for an enriching festival that offers new connections to the Twin Cities dance community.
